Terror Attack amid Trump Deal and Hamas Threats

Twelve soldiers were wounded, one seriously, in what police are investigating as a car-ramming terror attack near the popular First Station in Jerusalem on Thursday morning.

The driver rammed into a group of soldiers and fled. The car was later found abandoned close to Bethlehem, but the driver has not been found.

IDF Spokesperson Hidai Zilberman said the soldiers were in Jerusalem for a “heritage tour” and an early morning swearing-in ceremony at the Western Wall. Medics said one of the soldiers “was in a serious condition, unconscious and suffering major trauma.” Please pray for him NOW!

In other incidents this week, a Palestinian teenager was killed Wednesday after he threw a Molotov cocktail at Israeli troops in Hebron during clashes between Palestinians and Israelis. Mohammed al-Haddad, 17, was the first victim as tensions rose around the country one week after U.S. President Donald Trump revealed his peace plan. Palestinians rejected the plan before it was even announced and began protesting right away.

In the south, Palestinians fired fired several rockets into Israel over the past week. A 3-week-old baby was injured when her mother tripped while running to the bomb shelter of their Sderot home.

“At the time, I didn’t realize that she had been hurt even though she was crying, because I was hurt and was dizzy,” Vera Diglov said.

When the siren sounded, Diglov said she had to decide which of her children to rescue first. Residents in the Gaza periphery only have 15 seconds to get to shelter.

“We have three kids and I didn’t know who to take first. I grabbed the baby and we ran down the stairs. I slipped with the girl in my hands,” Diglov said.

The baby was treated for her injuries and released.

Palestinians have also continued launching “explosive balloons” toward Israel. On Wednesday morning, Israeli kindergarten children were rushed to safety inside their building after they spotted a bunch of balloons floating over their playground near Kiryat Gat. No one was injured.

In the West Bank, clashes broke out between Israelis and Palestinians who were rioting, throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at soldiers.

“During a violent riot that took place in the city of Hebron, IDF troops identified Palestinians lobbing petrol bombs at them and opened in response to remove the threat,” the IDF said in a statement. “Violent riots have been going on for a few days in Hebron next to the city’s Jewish settlement. Dozens of Palestinians hurled rocks, set tires on fires and lobbed petrol bombs at IDF and security forces.”

Meanwhile Hamas is calling for Palestinians to continue perpetrating violent attacks.

“We call for escalating confrontations with the occupation and its settlers and fighting their assaults against the land and holy sites, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque,” Hamas said, referring to the Temple Mount.
