Obama Admin’s ‘BS’ Doesn’t Fly in Israel!
I imagine you are all familiar with the acronym “BS”. In the White House it stands for “Both Sides”. Surely you didn’t think I meant anything else? Last night a crazed Palestinian terrorist ran through the Old City of Jerusalem stabbing anyone in site. He was shot dead, but not before he killed two and injured several others.
The United States State Department released this:
“We are concerned about mounting tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem, including the Haram al Sharif/Temple Mount, and call on all sides to take affirmative steps to restore calm and avoid escalating the situation.”
Okay, so here it is AS, not BS, but it still stinks!
All sides? Really? There is only one side running around with stones, explosives and guns, seeking to kill civilians. Just a few days earlier, a husband and wife were shot dead in their car by another Palestinian terrorist as they were returning with their children from a Sukkot celebration.
And if things were not crazy enough, the Palestinian Authority just moments ago condemned Israel for defending herself against terrorists. Brace yourself!
“In a written communiqué published on the official news agency Wafa, PA government spokesman Ihab Bseiso called on the international community to intervene following ‘the killing of two young men in occupied Jerusalem and the series of incursions into cities and villages in the West Bank.’” (source)
You can’t make this stuff up! To be clear, the “two young men” were running around Jerusalem with knives seeking to kill Jews.
The BBC actually ran a headline accusing Israel of killing a Palestinian: “Palestinian shot dead after Jerusalem attack kills two.” The headline doesn’t mention that the two others were Jewish or the Palestinian that was shot dead just killed two people! Imagine the headline, “19 Arabs Killed in Plane Crashes on 9/11.”
And the UN is using all leaders to condemn violence when really he just needs to urge Hamas and the PLO.
“[The Secretary General] urges all leaders to condemn violence and incitement, maintain calm and to do everything they can to avoid further escalation.”
New Strategy
It would appear that there is a new strategy in the Palestinian Authority: Provoke Israel through terrorism, and then condemn Israel for responding and assume the world won’t look deeper into the facts.
For the past several weeks Palestinian Muslims—mostly young men—have been bringing deadly rocks and crude explosives unto the Temple Mount. They have been terrorizing Jewish visitors. Under the present agreement, Jews can visit the Temple Mount, but cannot pray there.
Israel, has every right, and a solemn responsibility, to protect its citizens. That means getting the weapons out of the hands of would be terrorists. When Israel has done this, the Arab world has reacted with outrage. Of course these are fake controversies and fake outrage and clearly a new tactic of the Muslim world against Israel.
There is no doubt that these two young men that committed terror attacks last night were 100% convinced that Israel has desecrating the Temple Mount. There is no doubt that they were convinced that they were defending Islam against infidels. They sadly believe the disinformation of their leaders.
And all the Obama administration can do is call for all sides to calm down. Enough with the AS!
FOOTNOTE: I apologize if my use of the acronym above offends anyone. My goal is simply to wake people up to this deadly naiveté in the world regarding Israel and the Palestinians.
