Shabbat Shalom - from Scotland!

Shabbat Shalom from Scotland.

I am in the middle of a week of teaching on “God’s Heart for Israel” at Ellel, a powerful healing ministry and retreat center. Peter Broeker, the director, and Matt Moore, the Ellel US director, are co-teaching with me. The funny thing is that I came here a year ago for some rest and restoration. I did not tell other guests that I was a minister; I just came to seek the Lord. And what a breakthrough I had! So it’s kind of amazing that I’m back here as a teacher.

It is so beautiful here that I am overwhelmed. Having been in and out of the middle of war for eight months, I can tell you that I needed this! Elana will join me on Sunday. After the conference, we will enjoy a few days in Scotland and then fly to Holland for ministry. On July 1st, we will do a seminar in Belgium, and finally, we will be part of a prayer event at The Hague.

Below, I list some powerful passages regarding the coming revival in Israel. But here are a few pictures from Blairmore in Scotland.

Revival in Israel

I just finished teaching on the coming revival in Israel. Let me share a few passages to provoke you to prayer.

Zechariah speaks of a time when the Jews of Jerusalem will recognize Yeshua as Messiah.

And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son…On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity. (Zech. 12:10, 13:1)

John picks up on this in Revelation.

 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,”

     and “every eye will see him,

 even those who pierced him”;

     and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” (Rev. 1:7)

The phrase “people of the earth” is better translated as “tribes of the land.” In Hebrew, the word for “land of Israel” and “earth” are the same: aretz. In other words, it seems that John is saying that the tribes of Israel will recognize Yeshua at his coming.

When Yeshua confronts the Pharisees, he tells them that before he returns, that they, the Jews of Jerusalem, will recognize who he is.

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’” (Matt. 23:37, 39)

The words “Blessed is he who comes” means, in modern Hebrew colloquialism, “Welcome.” If you come to my house, I will say those words, “Baruch haba” –“Blessed is he who comes,” as I welcome you in. Yeshua will only return when the Jews of Jerusalem welcome him.

Why pray?

There are many other verses like Ezekiel 36:24-27 and Hosea 3:4-5 that speak of an End-Time awakening of the Jewish people. Let’s continue to pray for this to come to pass.

You might ask, “Why should I pray for what is already prophesied?” That’s a great question! We know that Anna and Simeon, and thousands like them over the years, were praying for the Messiah to come. In Isaiah, chapter 62:6-7 God implores the church to become watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem and remind him of his promises to the Jewish people.

I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;

     they will never be silent day or night.

 You who call on the Lord,

     give yourselves no rest,

 and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem

     and makes her the praise of the earth.

I recognize that it does not actually use the word church, but who else could these watchmen be? It’s not Israel as they are praying for Israel. It is another entity in the future that would give themselves no rest until God’s purposes for our Jerusalem come to pass.

Please take some time to Shabbat and pray for God’s purposes for Jerusalem in all Israel. God bless you greatly.
