Rashida Tlaib accuses Netanyahu ‘regime’ of human rights violations

At least one member of “the squad” is at it again bashing Israel this week.

After voting against a bill that opposes boycotts of Israel, U.S. Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan) accused the Israeli government, under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, of human rights violations.

“We all know under [that] Netanyahu’s regime, human rights violations have gotten worse,” the freshman congresswoman erroneously told CNN on Sunday.

“The Squad” is the moniker for four freshman congresswomen who share progressive political views and are outright anti-Semitic or come across as such. The squad is comprised of Tlaib along with Reps. Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ayanna Pressley.

Tlaib defended the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement for “criticizing the racist policies of Israel.” Addressing congress before the vote last week, Tlaib evoked her Palestinian roots and her grandmother who still lives near Ramallah and yearns “to experience equality, human dignity and freedom.”

“I stand before you as the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, parents who experienced being stripped of their human rights – the right to freedom of travel, equal treatment,” she told the House. “I cannot stand by and watch this attack on our freedom of speech and the right to boycott the racist policies of the government and the State of Israel.”

The resolution passed with 398 representatives voting in favor of opposing boycotts of Israel. Tlaib was among the 17 members of the House of Representatives who voted against.

“All around college campuses, Jewish, Muslim and Hindus are pushing back against the racist policies in Israel, because they see the human rights violations of children being detained, the fact that my grandmother who lives in the West Bank does not have equality, does not have freedom of travel,” Tlaib said to CNN. “She is someone who is right now under occupation and is feeling less than.”

She could have followed, “and to be clear, college campuses contain the most easily manipulated, undereducated people in America, who believe anything their professors tell them, without fact-checking.” Someone might want to ask her why is it that there are over 1,000,000 Arab Israelis who have no desire to leave “oppressive” Israel.

She would do better to protest the Palestinian Authority that jails journalists, steals aid money from their people and has no such thing as freedom of speech. Yet, in this past year and a half that Rep. Tlaib has constantly been constantly running her mouth (including referring to the president in public as a M***** F*****), she has not offered any criticism against the Palestinian Authority that violates the human rights of Palestinians every single day! Neither has she offer criticism against Iran, who supports Hamas, Hezbollah and other terror groups, not mention, jails women for uncovering their heads and dancing.

“We are not going to have peace if we don’t understand that we are dehumanizing Palestinians everyday when we choose Israel over their rights,” she said. But the truth is, Israel could recognize a Palestinian state tomorrow and the human right of Palestinians would still be violated by their own government. Nothing would change for them.

The freshman congresswoman is expected to visit her family in their village near Ramallah August.
