Want to go on a quick tour in Israel with me?
Several years ago, I had the joy of visiting Kibbutz Yotvata. It is an amazing community at the southern tip of Israel, near Eilat.
Kibbutz are a way of life in Israel. Now, I am not a fan of mandatory socialism, but kibbutz are voluntary—everyone there chooses to live and work communally. And it is really quite amazing!
Kibbutz are the backbone (and bread basket – to mix metaphors!) of our nation…a way of life that was attacked brutally on October 7th.
But kibbutzniks (those who live on the kibbutz) are a very determined type of people! Who wouldn’t be after pouring blood, sweats, tears, and YEARS into making the deserts of Israel bloom?! These Israelis have vowed to rebuild what Hamas tore down.
Thankfully, Kibbutz Yotvata was not targeted by Hamas (it is far to the south). It is a beautiful place to visit next time you come to see us in the Holy Land!
