Growing up Jewish in Richmond, Virginia, I was not particularly religious, but I was definitely Jewish. When my best friend, Brian, “got saved” in high school, I figured he had just found another religion—like becoming a Buddhist or whatever. Christianity and Jesus had absolutely NO connection to Judaism or to the Hebrew Scriptures in my mind, or in the minds of any of my family or Jewish community. Jesus had started a whole different religion.
So I thought…until I had an experience that changed my life. After my encounter with the presence of God, I started to notice for the first time, a mysterious divine Man in the Old Testament. Who was the fourth Man in the fire with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Babylon—one “like the Son of God”? And Who exactly wrestled with Jacob? Was Jesus really the Son of God as He claimed? Is He the Messiah of Israel?
This is a vital question for the Jewish people.
