Tim Kaine is not Pro-Life
All day yesterday I kept hearing how conservative Democratic Vice President nominee, Tim Kaine is pro-life. Let me clear—he is not. He is just as prochoice as Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Rights Action League. In fact, he is the most abhorrent type of prochoice proponent that there is.
Yes it is true that Tim Kaine is opposed to abortion.
“I have taken a position that is quite common among catholics, I have a personal feeling aobut abortion, (not wanting to offend millons of liberals by saying he was aginst it, “but the right role for government is to let women make their own decisions.”
You see, I could understand it if he believed that abortion was akin to removing a kidney or a liver, but that is not his position. He seems to believe, like John Kerry, that a fetus is a human life. And he is personally opposed to killing a baby in the womb, but is okay if others do it.
That is like saying “I am personally opposed to slavery, but it is not the government’s role to get involved. Let’s leave that up to each slave owner.” You say “Wait, a slave is a human—who has rights.” Exactly! And Kaine appears to believe that fetus is a human, but doesn’t have rights.
Don Lemon noted to Eric Metaxas that Planned Parenthood likes Kaine. He respond, “Yeah, now that he is out of the womb,” catching the CNN host off guard.
The abortion issue is really is not a religious one at all, so his catholic reference is meaningless. Abortion is a 1) scientific issue and 2) a moral issue.
Scientific
When does life begin. Dr. Alfred M. Bongioanni, professor of pediatrics and obstetrics at the University of Pennsylvania, stated:
“I have learned from my earliest medical education that human life begins at the time of conception…. I submit that human life is present throughout this entire sequence from conception to adulthood and that any interruption at any point throughout this time constitutes a termination of human life… “I am no more prepared to say that these early stages [of development in the womb] represent an incomplete human being than I would be to say that the child prior to the dramatic effects of puberty…is not a human being. This is human life at every stage.” (http://naapc.org/why-life-begins-at-conception/)
The fact is that after seven weeks the fetus has feet and hands. Twenty six days after conception the heart begins to beat. So any abortion after three weeks and five days stops a beating heart. This the clinical definition of killing someone.
Moral
So once we conclude that a fetus is human, then we have to ask, do we value human life? That is the moral question. And the answer is no. I touched on this in my resent free eBook, A Wake Up Call to America.
Maybe you saw the Super Bowl commercial with the baby and the Dorito? Throughout the ultrasound the baby was following the dad’s Dorito. In the end, the mother threw the chip and the baby birthed itself to get it. It was funny. We all laughed. However, the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (NARAL) rebuked Doritos for “humanizing the fetus.” We are talking about a nine-month-old, fully developed human being. They are so obsessed with killing babies that they can’t admit that a thinking, hearing, and heart-beating fetus is any different than a kidney or a liver. Humanizing a fetus? Really? In protesting the humanizing of a baby in the womb, they have dehumanized themselves.
So in conclusion, Tim Kaine is the worst type of prochoice candidate. He believes it is murder, but it is up to each individual. In other words, he is a coward, unwilling to stand up for what he knows to be true. In fact, he is worse than a coward, he is an opportunist, unwilling to call out even murder, so as not to jeopardize political office.
No, you cannot take the position that so many Catholics, according to him, take (by the way, does the Pope know that so many Catholics believe this? And if so, why are they not excommunicated?) and live with a clear conscience. You can no more have this position, than to have the knowledge that your neighbors has kidnapped little girls and keeps them in his basement and say, “Well, it’s his choice.”
The definition of pro-life is not that you believe abortion is wrong. It is not that you merely believe it is murder. It is that you believe it goes against the laws of nature and should be legislated as criminal behavior. To believe it is murder, but allow for others to do it, as Tim Kaine, is the most horrific type of prochoice position.
