Sadly we will Celebrate
Last week, we shared with you about the tragic death of Lieutenant Colonel Netanel Alkourdi. He was on his last mission before his battalion would be released. The party that we were going to have for their battalion last week will be tomorrow night, right here in Ashkelon. The mood will be somber, but they are happy to be going home.
You bought special backpacks for all 100 of them with the emblem of their unit. Thank you!
Last week, we bought 19 pairs of special winter boots for a unit in the north, near Lebanon. They were so blessed and sent us this video.
In other news:
The UN voted to demand an immediate cease-fire in the Israel-Gaza conflict. Fortunately, the United States vetoed it. No one here enjoys war. We would all love for it to be over. But with roughly three-fourths of Hamas destroyed and their leadership on the run, we can’t stop now. It would dishonor those who have given their lives.
What the world seems not to understand is that we still have over 100 hostages in Gaza. Should we let them just stay there forever? Without military pressure, Hamas has no reason to negotiate.
HOPE!
But there is hope. It’s easy to wonder where God is in all this. But we know that we live in a fallen and broken world. With all the world’s advancements, it’s incredible how violent people still are. But a New World is coming. The Hebrew Prophets spoke of a Messianic Age. Peter affirmed this in Acts 3.
“Now, fellow Israelites, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders. But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer. Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets. (Acts 3:17-21)
I believe the time is approaching when Yeshua will return and set up the Millennial kingdom. It is incredible to be alive and see the words of Jeremiah, Isaiah, Zechariah, and Ezekiel coming to pass.
God has brought the Jewish exiles home.
Israel is a nation.
Jewish people are coming to faith in Yeshua.
The nations are raging against God, his Messiah and Israel.
“Look up for your salvation is near.” (Luke 21:28)
