Ministry Gatekeepers Tried to Silence Me 🤐

Shabbat Shalom!
(For those who receive our prayer letter, this is similar to what I sent out yesterday.)
When you live all over the world as a family, you cherish the times when everyone is in the same place. I am so blessed that we are all together in Richmond. Danielle just arrived from Italy after a brief vacation. She was able to get a flight from Israel to Italy not long after the ceasefire.
Who's trying to silence you?
Well, I don't want to be overly dramatic. In fact, in the video below, I actually refer to the “ministry mafia,” which I regret. But as you will see in the video, I had two leaders who initially enthusiastically endorsed When Shepherds Prey, but then, under pressure from other leaders, withdrew their endorsement. It seems clear that certain people are not happy about this book.
Both of these men gave glowing endorsements. And one of them, God bless him, has been so encouraging to me even after pulling his endorsement, saying that he still fully believes in the book. I don't have any ill will against any of them—or against anyone that we felt we had to highlight in the book. My prayer is that everyone would come to the truth—including me.
God knows I've got my issues. And if he doesn't, he can ask my wife :-). This is not about being perfect—I don't know a pastor who is. It's about not tolerating behavior that is deeply damaging to the souls of his precious sheep.
Anyway… I won't take up any more of your time. I hope you have time to watch the video. And if you haven't yet, please do go to Amazon.com and pick up a copy of When Shepherds Prey.
While I was sad that these gentlemen were forced to pull their endorsements, I'm actually excited in a way. It shows why this book is needed. There are ministry elites that want to control the narrative, which is often connected to covering up sin and protecting powerful people. Those days are over!
Shabbat Shalom
