Jews Brutally Attacked by Arab Gangs in Amsterdam
A very sad, but not surprising, Shabbat Shalom,
"They came in masses—[they] attacked us all."
Jews were running for their lives last night in Amsterdam. According to reports, there was an organized violent attack against Israeli fans of the Tel Aviv-based soccer team. Arabs, armed with clubs and knives, attacked Jews just two days before the anniversary of Kristallnacht (the night of broken glass), when Nazis terrorized Jews on November 9, 1938. Many scholars believe this was the beginning of the Holocaust.
Ten people were injured and a hundred more were hiding in their hotel rooms, fearing for their lives.
Two Israelis shared with Israeli news:
“There was a police force standing on the side, not doing too much when there was some kind of protest. Everything was planned down to the last detail. Each of us had been to the Netherlands four times; we had never felt like this before.
“We saw people on the ground in the middle of the road. They arrived by car, by bike, they kicked. Some came in taxis, so we had trouble finding a taxi driver to get out of there. I suggested we hide any signs that could identify us and just pass through them, so they wouldn’t suspect us.”
Another Israeli who witnessed what people are calling a modern-day pogrom (violent riot against an ethnic or religious group) said:
“It was a pogrom. We were abandoned by the Amsterdam police. Until other Israelis arrived at Dam Square and drove away the rioters, an hour and a half from the start of the event, the Amsterdam police didn’t lift a finger,”
An ex-Muslim pro-Israel social media influencer who goes by the Apostate Prophet (he interviewed me a few months ago) showed footage of a person claiming in English not to be Jewish, which did nothing to deter the Islamic attackers:
There are reports of at least one Israeli, where his attackers at attempted to kidnap him, but he escaped. Some Israelis went many hours unaccounted for.
The first plane just arrived home from Amsterdam near 4 PM Israeli time.
You can see videos all over social media of the attack.
Once again, for those people who think the state of Israel was a mistake, it is clear that the Jewish people will never be safe without their own country. Theodore Hertzl, the father of modern day Zionism, was against the idea of a Jewish state. However, when he covered the trial of Alfred Dreyfus, a French officer who was exiled to Devil's Island on trumped up charges from anti-Semitic commanders, he realized the truth. The Jewish people need their own country in order to protect themselves. Amazingly, he came to that conclusion 40 years before the Holocaust.
Girt Wilders, the leader of the largest party in the Dutch parliment siad of his converstaion with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, “(I) told him of my anger and shame of what happened in Amsterdam.” Amsterdam has banned any type of outdoor demonstration for the next three days and "gave police emergency stop-and-search powers in response to unrest that exposed deep anger over the Gaza-Israel conflict," according to the Times of Israel.
My wife watching the Friday night news in Israel told me of the horror that people experience as they gave their accounts on television. One fan recounted:
As I began making my way to my hotel, I was alone at some point and felt uneasy.
"As I begin making my way to my hotel, I was alone ... Then, some Muslim fans, who I think were Turkish, noticed me. I started to panic and tried to run, but one of them tripped me, and I fell to the ground. When they saw my Maccabi scarf, they started hitting me—kicking my head, shoving, all in a very violent and spontaneous way. It all happened in seconds.” He said he tried to call for help, but passerbys did not stop to help him. "I ran into the road, tried to flag down cars, but no one stopped for me." (jpost.com)
Another fan staying in an apartment, said that Muslim riders threw a stun grenade at them.
The Jerusalsem Post also reported how a local Rabbi from chabad (known for helping Israeli abroad, no matter what their religious affiliation) helped Israelis.
Many of the Israeli fans in Amsterdam received assistance from Chabad representatives in thecity. In fact, a special command center was established, managed by two rabbis from two Chabad houses in Amsterdam, “Since last night, reports have been coming in about the horrors experienced by Maccabi fans who came to the game in Amsterdam,” said Rabbi Dovi Pinkowitz of Chabad in a conversation with Walla. “We received numerous calls from people who were injured and involved in violent incidents, though we still don’t know all the details, as everyone is focused on trying to get out of here and escape the city." "We received reports of violent attacks and a vehicular assault in the city center, and we arranged for medical teams to be dispatched to the area. A Magen David Adom (MDA) medical team that was in Paris arrived here this morning, and we are trying to manage all events and assist as much as possible.”
As we enter in to Shabbat, please remember the Jewish people.
