WATCH! A shock on Holocaust Memorial Day

Today, in Israel, it is Holocaust Memorial day. And for many Israelis, there was a little bit of a shock with it! Let me explain...
It’s a sad but true fact that in a few more years, there will be no more Holocaust survivors. And at the same time, we are witnessing Holocaust denial coming into the mainstream. It is so important to have these first-hand testimonies of survivors recorded while we still can.
But these harsh realities are not what shocked some of us today…
After weeks of war with Iran and multiple sirens and sprints to the nearest bomb shelter every day, Israelis have been enjoying the return to more peaceful, normal days during this cease-fire.
So, it came as a jolt this morning when suddenly the blare of a siren screamed while I was walking near the Mediterranean. It took me (and many others, I later found out) a second or two to remember that on Holocaust Memorial Day, the sirens go off in remembrance for two minutes. It is a somber time where we all stop whatever we are doing (even driving our cars!) and remember the Shoah (the Holocaust).
Thank you for loving the Jewish people and for praying for Israel’s salvation. And for never forgetting…
