Day 83 — Israelis need to see LIGHT! Will you let the light of Yeshua shine through you?

I can’t even explain what it’s like to walk into a house that has been completely torched. That is hard enough. But imagine if it is dozens in the same neighborhood that were intentionally set on fire by terrorists that invaded your peaceful kibbutz with plans to rape, kill and kidnap. I saw exactly that the other day when I toured Kibbutz Nir Oz.

As we end 2023, the need to stand with Israel is greater than ever.

  • Homes are going to need to be rebuilt.

  • Soldiers need our support.

  • They need to know that we are standing with them, even as they are demonized all over the world for defending their country.

We set a goal to raise $1 million to bless Israel just after October 7. We are right at nearly $800,000 right now with three days to go. And most of those funds have gone out to buy soldiers’ equipment and help those who have been evacuated from their neighborhoods.

There are thousands of Israelis living in hotels right now because they no longer have homes. You have to understand that for a kibbutznik (someone who lives on a kibbutz and has adopted their way of agricultural communal life), living in a hotel in Tel Aviv is a worst-case scenario. They want to get back to their land.

Last night, we were informed of another soldier falling in battle. Three weeks ago, Shaul Greenlick performed and progressed to the next round on "Cochav Haba" (The Next Star), a singing competition show, but gave it up to return to Gaza with his unit. He was just 26 years old and lived in our old city, Ra'anana.

Up until today, 167 soldiers have fallen in Gaza. This is in addition to the 1200 Israeli civilians and soldiers that died on October 7. Parents have buried children, and children have buried parents. And we cannot forget that there are still roughly 135 hostages in Gaza.

Please consider a special year-end gift so that we can continue to bless Israel. You have an opportunity to be Israel’s champion. Let’s be honest, we don’t have many friends. The airwaves and the Internet are filled with people enraged against us. Most don’t have any idea of the actual facts on the ground but listen to anti-Israel propaganda. It’s just like the Bible said—the nations are raging at God and his Messiah over the holy land (Ps. 2:1-5).

Israel needs to see light. Yeshua told us that the way to spread light is through good deeds.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matt. 5:16).

Thank you for letting your light shine here in Israel!

PS. Just as I finished this letter, I got a phone call from a soldier in the north, fighting against Hezbollah. It is much colder up there, and the temperature has dropped 10° overnight. He asked if we would buy thermal clothing for 30 soldiers. Of course, we said yes. Please pray for Ehud. His son is also in the army, and his wife Cecilia is working tirelessly to help those who have been affected by the war.

It breaks my heart to know faithful IDF soldiers are dying without knowing the love of Yeshua. Please pray for them and donate to help Israel.
