Be a Light in Tel Aviv

One of my greatest joys each week is gathering with our congregation in Tel Aviv—Tiferet Yeshua, which means the splendor of Yeshua.

During the week, life can feel heavy. And I’m not even referring to the war. Walking with victims of clergy sexual abuse, producing difficult content, and most recently writing When Shepherds Prey has brought its own kind of spiritual warfare. It’s sacred work—but it’s not light work.

That’s why stepping into our congregational meeting each week is so life-giving.

When we finally came back together after five weeks of separation due to the war, the room was filled with something I’ll never forget—joy, deep joy, and genuine love for one another. In a nation where faith in Yeshua is often rejected, that kind of community is not just meaningful—it’s essential.

At Tiferet Yeshua, while I do serve as one of the pastors and often speak, what I cherish most is simply being a local Israeli believer—worshiping together with my spiritual family.

And that’s why I’m writing to you today.

The local congregation is the most important expression of the Body of Messiah. It’s where believers are strengthened, discipled, and sent out. In Israel, where following Yeshua can come at a social cost, gathering together is even more critical.

Through faithful partners like you, Messiah’s Mandate currently provides over $4,000 every month to support the congregation and is the congregation’s largest donor. These funds help cover rent, outreach, and vital ministries like Feed Tel Aviv—our work among drug addicts and women in prostitution. It’s real, on-the-ground ministry bringing the love of Yeshua to some of the most broken places in the city.

But I want to be honest with you.

This past year has been difficult. Like many, we’re feeling the strain of a challenging economy. While we have not missed a single payment to support the congregation, it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain this level of giving.

That’s why I’m asking you to prayerfully consider a generous gift today.

Your support will help ensure that:

  • Believers in Tel Aviv have a place to gather and grow;

  • Outreach to the marginalized continues without interruption;

  • The light of Yeshua keeps shining in one of the most spiritually resistant cities in the world.

Together, we can strengthen this vital community—so that every week, and throughout the week, people can come together to worship, be encouraged, and encounter Yeshua.

Thank you for standing with us. Your partnership truly makes a difference.

With gratitude,

Dr. Ron Cantor
