Anti-Semitic Congresswomen continues to spread lies

We’ve reported on the anti-Israel congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Now the Minnesota Democrat is again under fire for anti-Semitic comments for suggesting that a powerful pro-Israel interest group paid members of Congress to support Israel.

On Sunday, Omar said that calls for her and another anti-Semitic Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) to be admonished for criticizing Israel was “all about the Benjamins baby” — a slang term for $100 bills. When asked what she meant, she responded that AIPAC, the pro-Israel lobby group, is paying politicians to support Israel.

To be clear AIPAC does not contribute to any political campaign or endorse candidates.

It has long been a conspiracy theory by the white supremacists and anti-Semites, like nation of Israel leader, Louis Farrakhan, that Jews control the world’s money, and use it to control countries. However, we have never, that I know of, had a sitting US congressman or women publicly state this. From medieval blood libels, to the idea that Jews control the media and Hollywood, to the attacks of September 11, Jews have been a favorite target for conspiracy theorists.

Omar apologized on Monday after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats rebuked her and U.S. President Donald Trump said she “should be ashamed of herself.”

Ilhan Omar has continued to use anti-Semitic language in her tweets and interviews, only to claim afterwards, that she did not know what she was saying was racist.

“Anti-Semitism is real and I am grateful for Jewish allies and colleagues who are educating me on the painful history of anti-Semitic tropes. My intention is never to offend my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole,” Omar said. “We have always to be willing to step back and think through criticism, just as I expect people to hear me when others attack me for my identity. This is why I unequivocally apologize.”

Nothing like an unequivocal apology, full of ambiguity that says, “Don’t forget…I am a victim.” To be clear, no one that I know of, has attacked Rep. Omar for her “identity”, but for the outlandish, constant anti-Semitic stream that spews out of her mouth. Just last week, she compared Israel to Iran. And let’s be honest, each time Rep. Omar is caught in an anti-Semitic libel, the petite congresswoman claims she didn’t realize that it was anti-Semitic. She is excellent at playing the victim.

Other Democrats immediately condemned Omar’s statement.

“Congresswoman Omar’s use of anti-Semitic tropes and prejudicial accusations about Israel’s supporters is deeply offensive,” Speaker Pelosi said in a statement issued by her office and signed by other Democratic leaders. “We condemn these remarks and we call upon Congresswoman Omar to immediately apologize for these hurtful comments.”

Despite her apology, Omar stood by her criticism of the “problematic role of lobbyists in our politics.”

“I reaffirm the problematic role of lobbyists in our politics, whether it be AIPAC, the NRA or the fossil fuel industry. It’s gone on too long and we must be willing to address it,” Omar said. She managed to only call out conservative lobbying groups, and left out liberal groups like the pro-abortion, even-outside-the-womb-group, Planned Parenthood. And I guess she must be proud of President Trump for imposing a five-year ban on lobbying from members of his administration after they leave.

Conservative orthodox Jewish commentator Ben Shapiro tweeted back in jest;

Jason Rantz, a Radio Host was more blunt: “To be clear, she’s not listening or learning because she keeps using anti-Semitic tropes to push her anti-Semitic agenda, then pretending she’s not heard of the tropes. She apologized only after the Democrats put out a huge statement condemning her hate.”
